Blankets and Throws

Mudcloth is also known as Bogolanfini, or Bogolan in the Bamana language of Mali, West Africa.

The Bogolan textiles are made from the locally-spun cotton of West Africa.  Cotton is woven by hand in strips and sewn together, or on wide looms, creating a beautiful, textured cloth. This natural cotton cloth is then dyed by hand using traditional plants and fermented mud.

The Indigo textiles are from Mali and Burkina Faso. Some are vintage, while others are newly made. All are dyed with the natural indigo plant using a shibori style tie and dye.
